Compatibility and Applications

The BA001 is compatible with LINAK® DESKLINE® and HOMELINE® systems, including control boxes like the CBD6S (software version 1.37 or later) and CBH Advanced. It's ideal for:

  • Mobile height-adjustable desks

  • Medical and industrial carts

Please note: BA001 is not compatible with DPG1C and DPG1M toggle switches. If you require a toggle style switch that works with the battery we recommend using DPG1K.

Charging and Safety Considerations

Charging Options:
Only compatible with LINAK® CBD6S control box or SMPS006 power supply.

Actual capacity
Turn on the light for a few seconds by pressing the small black button below the LED light bars. The four LED light bars indicate the actual capacity.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Avoid exposure to heat, fire, water, or direct sunlight.
  • Ensure proper ventilation during charging; do not cover the battery or charger.
  • Store on a non-flammable surface and keep away from children.

Notes:

  • When the capacity is below 25%, the audio alarm sounds once each time the BA001 is activated.
  • The battery turns off to protect itself when the capacity is approx. 5%. Below 5% capacity, the audio alarm sounds once each time the BA001 is activated. No LED light bars can be lit.
  • During charging, the LED light bars indicate the actual capacity.
    When the charging is complete the LED light bars turn off.
  • Charging will not start if the capacity is above 75%.
  • The BA001 has a built-in protection to ensure battery and system lifetime.
  • The battery limits the discharge current to approx. 10 A.
  • The battery can go into a protected mode. Then a reset is made only after disconnecting the cable and in some cases charging the battery, see Troubleshooting.
  • Transportation by plane must comply with IATA regulations (typically ≤30% SoC for air transport).

Charging

  • The BA001 can be charged either via the DESKLINE Control Box CBD6S or via the Switch Mode Power Supply SMPS006 using a DC cable with 2-poled minifit plug. LINAK offers various cables with straight plug which can be used (e.g. 0705894‑200).

Actual capacity

  • Turn on the light for a few seconds by pressing the small black button below the LED light bars. The four LED light bars indicate the actual capacity.

Maintenance

  • Clean dust and dirt from the outside of the system at appropriate intervals and inspect for damage and breaks.
  • Inspect connections, cables, and plugs without disconnecting, and check functioning as well as fixing points.
  • Low battery: Below 25% capacity, an audio alarm sounds once each time the BA001 is activated. At approximately 5%, the battery shuts down to protect itself. Below this level, the alarm still sounds when activated, but the LED light bars will not illuminate.
  • Charging: The LED light bars show the current capacity during charging and switch off when charging is complete. Charging will not start if the battery capacity is above 75%.
  • Storage: If capacity falls below 25% (one LED light bar), recharge the battery before storing it.
  • Built-in protection: To help protect battery and system life, the BA001 limits discharge current to approximately 10 A. If it enters protection mode, disconnect the cable to reset it. Charging may also be required; refer to the LINAK troubleshooting instructions.
  • Battery life: Under ideal conditions, the battery is expected to retain at least 70% of its original capacity after approximately 500 charging cycles.
  • Operating environment: Designed for indoor use only. Not suitable for harsh environments such as industrial kitchens.
  • Air transport: Transportation by air must comply with applicable IATA requirements, including any state-of-charge limits. Confirm requirements with the carrier before shipping.
  • Warranty and servicing: A one-year warranty from the production date covers manufacturing defects, subject to proper use and maintenance. Repairs and servicing must be carried out by authorised LINAK service centres to maintain safety and warranty validity.

  • For height-adjustable desks (two-leg, average load): Approximately 40–50 full cycles (up/down) on a full charge.
  • For library carts under typical usage: Around 160 full cycles per charge.
